Famous Feet Daily News Flash: Not to be confused with Olivia Newton-John, Thandie Newton, born in Zambia, was, like the proverbial tree falling in the forest - an actress no one heard or knew of. Though she appeared in the impossible to remember Mission Impossible II, before the latest news hit us, the natural mistake was to confuse the name as Sandy pronounced by someone with a lisp. But all this is changed in a big way. Newton’s name [actually pronounced Tan-dee] has been put out there by the Hollywood Reporter to play Condoleezza Rice in Oliver Stone’s new vat of horse manure, a film this time about George W. Bush. To which we have mixed feelings, taking note on one hand that Condoleezza, in Zimbabwe, means, literally, “mud hut that looks like an apartment governed by home owners association.” On the other, Stone’s ability to make objective films about politicians being somewhat like Heather Mills competing in a sack race. Albeit, our spies tell us that the extended DVD version of the Stone film will include eight hours of extras featuring Rice, coming up for air not once, planting her political hack lips on Bush’s ass. To say we have our doubts about Thandie receiving any kind of serious acclaim for this Stone inspired dog & pony show is putting it mildly. Checking out Thandie, however, it’s really quite amazing what you can do with Aunt Emily’s Victorian lampshade. And training for the 100 meter-dash running barefoot in those Zambian villages hasn’t hurt, either, lending some serious muscle tone to the shins, calves, and foot tops. In the foot Olympic scoring system “7″ gives Thandie a bronze medal.
