Remember as a kid when you wore Kleenex boxes for shoes and cut the bottoms out of super market paper bags for makeshift leg warmers? That’s the first thing that struck us about these Rachel Bilson pix: Rachel’s retro salute to The Great Depression. Known primarily for the TV series, The O.C., Bilson, the daughter of Hollywood pedigree, grew up as a rebellious kid. In that neck of the woods, anarchy generally means refusing to park the family Mercedes in the garage. But in Bilson’s case, one night while looking for cheap thrills, she wound up in a head-on collision with another car. Resultantly, Rachel suffers migraines and memory loss to this day, but the upside is she forgot what she was rebelling against. Climbing Bilson’s family tree a bit higher, we find that her great-grandfather was the head of the trailer department at RKO when Howard Hughes decided to add U-Hauls to the company fleet. [Time line detectives will probably bust us for making a funny on this point.] For her part, Bilson graduated from Water Reed Middle School where students, under general anesthesia and morphine drips, are taught a basic curriculum. Then imagine the fact that Bilson’s father talked her out of college to consider a career in acting. Way to go, pop. Because as we know, those annoying diplomas only gather dust, anyway. Proving that the old man was right on so many levels, Bilson jumped in doing Raisin Bran and Pepto-Bismol commercials. Yet, as a result of the success of The O.C., Bilson has become well-known among teenage audiences, and Howard Stern even named her the hottest chick in Hollywood. But, alas, popularity and hotness can’t stem the tide of ICF as we’ve already seen in the sad case of Kelly Hu. ICF, being incipient crypt keeper’s foot. Bilson’s toes are, already, a house divided- hunched up Republicans on the right side of the aisle. Democrats on the other. For now Rachel gets a majority vote of “6″ but we suspect a worsening turn of the events during a roll call in the next presidential administration.
