Mena Suvari’s Feet

An orange glow is always an attention grabber, and, here, Mena Suvari sports one from her latest artificial vacation at Spray Tan World. A star of the prestigious trilogy, American Pie, American Virgin and American Beauty, Suvari continually baffles the glamour experts with her chameleonic gender changes: one day pouting, thick-lipped sexpot; next day, tobacco-chewing short stop for the Chicago Cubs. Born in Newport, Rhode Island, Suvari’s the daughter of an Estonian-American psychiatrist, and made the stoned part a gimmick that worked very well for her in her acting career. By the age of 13, Suvari was modeling and appearing in Rice-A-Roni commercials. For some, this would have been the zenith of accomplishment, but Mena pressed on with dreams peculiar to modeling. She wanted to be either an archaeologist, astronaut or doctor. Since there were no openings for a professor of moon rocks, Suvari took up acting instead. Mena scored some appearances on TV shows before she got famous for laying presumed naked in a tub full of rose petals in American Beauty. With that and the San Francisco treat, we would have been content to collect royalty checks, but not Mena. Besides her next trilogy of clunkers which included Loser, The Musketeer, and Spun, Suvari’s all lined up for a lead in the remake of the zombie movie Day of the Dead and it’s planned sequel, Next Week You’re Deader. Besides modeling for Lancome cosmetics which is test marketing a fragrance evocative of Rice-A-Roni, Suvari’s also dating a professional breakdancer- an occupation, we’re sure, as nearly selective for its complexity and payoff value as professional lawn mower racing. Complexity is certainly the sole of Mena’s wit as we check out that little citrus orchard she’s cultivating in her shoes. As much as we’d like to look further, we’ve only got “6″ minutes to spare.
