Back in the day when she played a snarling, hair abundant rock n’ roll stage goddess named Ellen Aim in Streets of Fire, Diane Lane was all leather, attitude and a total “10″- a chick quite unapproachable by average guy standards. Unless the average guy carried a shotgun which is what her boyfriend in the film, Michael Pare, carried.Today, Lane, out from Under the Tuscan Sun and needing to get back in it judging by this photo, fosters a different image- an almost vulnerable one, you might say, if we were to judge her strictly from the knee down. Perhaps it’s the camera angle lending the illusion, but Lane’s right leg appears to be significantly larger than her left. Forgive us for sounding unconditionally petty, but this cockeyed geometry is way more than than a bit to bear for the exacting foot fancier. True, Lane’s toes are au natural- which are a saving grace in this Picassoesque composition, but Diane, baby, you need to get to the gym and work on those one legged toe raises. And until you get that condition squared away, you’re getting a 6.
