Candace Bushnell’s Feet, Author of Sexy and the City

By virtue of being author of the widely renowned Sex and the City, Candace Bushnell hit big time pay dirt. Basically a college dropout, Bushnell not only finagled a columnist’s job for The New York Observer but figured out how to turn full-scale partying and late nite pub crawling into a lucrative occupation. Now it’s a double-edged sword. Given the fact that she’s an accepted arbiter of fashion and sexual mores, the shoe’s on the other foot so to speak, and we get to rate Candace and be catty- just like one of her fictional characters. Candace, can you take it? For someone who’s turning 50 this year [ye gods!!] you remain smart, sophisticated, narrow of hip and highly bedecked in female bling. And gazing down at your feet, the tendency’s not to recoil as in the case of Susan Lucci, but to stare transfixed at a set of massage-worthy arches and lively, red-painted, but chipped, toenails . If they could speak, they might be whispering “suck me,” and the reaction might be to obey without hesitation. Except, Candace, to be quite honest, age and Earl Scheib pedicures automatically subtract a few points. But, take heart, “7″ is a number your alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw will never see under any rating system.
